It's December with a vengeance...it suddenly hit me that there aren't many days left to prepare. I much prefer the longer gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas!
I finally began putting away my fall decorations today...and the Christmas wreath is on the door....
But as to what is next...I spent time today with Victoria Magazines. looking for both inspiration and the essence of the season...
And will begin being creative...I hope...tomorrow. The most important thing for me is to remember....
In this home, or to paraphrase Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol, He is The Founder Of our Feast...
I found this 1970s plate recently at an estate sale, and I thought it quite charming! The plate is an ironstone English decorative plate and went along with the Christmas music I have on the CD player....Joy to the World...the Lord Is Come! Let earth receive her King!
How is your preparations coming? I hope the season is filling you with joy, peace and thankfulness. It is a hard time of year for many...but even in the darkness of winter the small candle of the smile of an excited child, or small token of love can alleviate the darkness. I pray that will be so for you.
I want to remind you I am having a drawing on Sunday, Dec. 8th for the cup with lid and infuser in it's carrying box. For more info and to enter, make a comment and follow on the post HERE.
I am joining the following blogs...and lots of others! May the spirit of Christmas tickle your nose with it's mince pie and mulled cider breath and make you smile!

Thanks for reminding me that I need to pull out my Christmas Victorias saved over the years!
ReplyDeleteI am in the throes of Christmas decorating & all that entails, and reminding myself I love this time of the year for all it means to me and my family. Yes, Jesus is the reason for the season, and family is a treasure. So we rejoice in Him and all His blessings, even if the house gets too cluttered and there are always dishes to wash. ( just means we are blessed with food to dirty them and family to share our food with )
