I am snuffling...allergies have hit. Fall seems to be worst in this area for me. So I am in a low key mode today. I have have a teacup for Teacup Thursday and then will be taking a nap because sneezing kept me from sleeping well last night. Ah well...it will pass.
It's a fall brown transferware type day. Here is a Johnson Brothers vintage design called Olde English Countryside. It feels like the English countryside in fall today here...cold and high fog or marine layer. The cup and saucer dates to the 1930s, and is one of the hand colored transferware designs I love. They are really timeless, and so very decorative. For more info on the teacup at Antiques And Teacups, just click on the photos.
This is what it's like today. We drove to the coast...about 3 miles... after buying produce at the organic farm store so I could just sit there and breathe the ocean air. Very good for my sinuses. Not as picturesque as on a sunny day, but...
I hope you are having a great day! Here are the blogs I am joining today. I am drinking a cup of Constant Comment Green Tea...I drink lots of tea when I have sinus problems...or even when I'm not, come to think of it!!! And I will check in with you all later...time for a nap!

Your tea cup is gorgeous. I collect Johnson Brothers Friendly Village! Olde English Countryside is a favorite of mine as well.

Really like that pretty fall looking tea cup. Allergies are running wild everywhere now. I am fortunate that I do have any.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a couple of cups the other day at the consignment shop that didn't have saucers. They look a lot like this. I will have to check.
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled across your wonderful blog. I'm now your newest UK follower and have added you to my blogroll so I don't miss any new posts. Great to meet you and share your interest for wonderful teacups :-)

It's beautiful, I love the moody colors.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful teacup, Ruth! I hope your allergies settle down and you're feeling better. Have a lovely weekend and take care, my dear sister!

I do hope you are feeling better Ruth. As you know, I adore Johnson Brothers! I have a large collection of this pattern and enjoy using it often. It is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe that I was not even familiar with Johnson Bros. I recently found a darling small pitcher of J. Bros. Friendly Village in a thrift store. Since then I have been seeing all kinds of Johnson Bros. on blogs. It is all gorgeous! Yours is no exception. Love the sweet scene. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
