Tuesday Cuppa Tea...Fear Not

Welcome to my usually linking blog friends to a different Tuesday Cuppa tea. I just haven't been able to concentrate on getting a teacup post up...I am too concerned for friends, colleagues and customers who live under the threat of the mega storm hurricane Sandy approaching to day.

All I have been able to do is watch and pray for those, many by name, that I know are threatened. So my teacup post is....

And the sharing of something that is foundational for me in hard times:

'Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

Isaiah 41:10

To all of you who are threatened....we are thinking about you and praying for you.....

And will be waiting for you to emerge from the other side of this difficult time with stories of bravery, endurance, shared fear and laughter and strength found in hard places.

I am not doing a linky this week...not only because of the storm and my preoccupation and prayer for those involved, but also because of the dark elements of the halloween holiday that I just don't feel comfortable with participating in. So I will see you later in the week, hopefully with the storm behind us and a fresh new world of hope and appreciation of blessings ahead.
Love,
Ruth

  2. Hi Ruth, Thanks for the verse. I live with a lot of fear at times - more fear of what might happen in the future. But I know that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of hope and I cling to that.

  3. Hello Ruth
I've removed your link today but will join you next week again. We do have many people to pray for that are already affected and those of us yet to experience the wrath of Sandy. Hopefully everyone will remain safe.

  5. Thank you Ruth for this post and scripture and words of encouragement. I also agree with you regarding Halloween. So far it is very windy here in eastern Canada with light drizzle but we are to get a lot of rain over the next 2 days. It won't be as bad as the eastern states but if we lose power it won't be pleasant. Blessings to you! Pamela

  6. Hello Ruth,
I too am praying for those in the path of that monstrous storm! Hopefully our little Island won't be affected too much. The storm being as large as it is will certainly spread out our way too. And of course it is a dark week with Halloween looming on the horizon. I never particiapte in it for several reasons and always breathe a sigh of relief when November 1 arrives. Have a lovely week, my friend, and thank you for your prayers. I am joining you.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  7. Hi Ruth,
I understand your preoccupation but as serious measures are being taken by those responsible let's hope there won't be much destruction or human lives at risk.
    Have a lovely week.

  11. Ruth - Thank you for your prayer and concern. The wind and rain is fitful and has just about destroyed our seaside resorts (see my teatime post and I know you've seen my fb posts. However, through it all I have felt light and lifted by the Lord. He is the keeper of my soul and is faithful through the storms. Be ye blessed, milady!
    Joy!
