Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Purple Occupied Japan Teacup, Lavender Festival

Helloo and welcome to my meme Tuesday Cuppa Tea! The linky to join in and some of the blogs I am joining are at the bottom of the post.

In honor of the Sequim Lavender Festival, which has just ended, here is my teacup...a purple three footed beauty from Occupied Japan:

The Occupied Japan period was from 1945-1952 when post World War II Japan was occupied and rebuilt by the allied nations. I love the color, shape and decoration. Too cool! To see more info on the cup and saucer at Antiques And Teacups, just click on the photos.

The 16th annual Sequim Lavender Festival ended today...three days of lavender farm visiting, lavender cutting, sniffing, eating and shopping with the additions of a car show, hot air balloons....and unfortunately quite a bit of rain!

On the first day we choose a lavender farm to visit, and this year we visited Jardin Du Soliel early in the morning before the crowds arrived.

Outside the gift shop at the lavender farm

25 different varieties of lavender for sale. They are grown here, and they always have some for sale
L

Some views of the wonderful lavender fields. Note the colors of different varieties.  Below, are items in the gift shop.

Earl Grey tea with lavender instead of bergamot?????

So...you can see, how much there IS to see! So many farms, crafts, food...you name it. We are not big on crowds, so tend to get in and out early.

The sun was pretty much behind a marine layer...and drizzle, and downright rain at times! But...we always look forward to it!

Here is the list of blogs and the linky. Have a great week and have a cuppa with a friend!

  17. Hello Ruth,
Your tea cup this week is just stunning!
And what should I say of the lavender gardens you just visited! Beautiful colours and amazing photos!
I also have a few lavender bushes blooming in the garden and I love the flowers, to use fresh in vases and then to dry and keep in satchets for the drawers.
    Loved it all!
