Hello! Time for Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady.
Today for my teacup and vintage item, I have a Sadler, England Golden Jubilee mug from 2002. Not too vintage, but I've been thinking nuch about Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee of 60 years on the throne which began Feb. 6th. Available at Antiques And Teacups.
This was my favorite of the Golden Jubilee designs.. Very regal and looks like a trip to the Tower Of London to see the Crown Jewels. Very fitting!
I also want to let all you Downton Abbey on PBS fans know of an opportunity to win a trip to England in September which includes a VIP personal tour of Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey, afternoon tea with Lady Caenarvon and other goodies that is being given away by PBS. The contest is called the Masterpiece Classic Sweepstakes. To enter, click this link:

Also, you might like to visit Architectural Digest magazine online and view some of the actual rooms of Highclere Castle and learn more about the setting for the Downton Abbey series.

And lastly, for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee and our 38th wedding anniversary, we will be giving away this Diamond Jubilee English bone china mug. I will tell you how to enter on my Tuesday Cuppa Tea meme.
Have a fun day visiting asll the teacups and vintage thingies! It's so much fun!

ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to have a piece from her jubilee. I remember seeing all the medallions in inserted in the streets of London after her 25th! wow a while ago!

That Sadler mug is beautiful with all that gold. I am a hughe fan of Downton Abbey so I must go and see.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is a royal looking Jubilee Cup at the top.
ReplyDeleteI have a Golden Jubilee Teapot in the same pattern I purchased in 2002 at a shop in Stratford. I usually don't purchase "souvenir" teapots, but I just couldn't resist. The entire country was celebrating while we were there. It was a memorable time to be in England.
ReplyDeleteI love your Diamond Jubilee tea mug and also the one for the giveaway. Did you order the dark blue one on line or purchase it in a store? Just wondering. See you Tuesday. Pamela
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth, Thanks for such a great post. How I'd love to go to England.I entered the contest thanks to you. I'm so glad you enjoyed my post about doing the next thing. Isn't EE wonderful?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Donna
