I just found a fabulous article today in the Telegraph Online about the current Lady Caenarvon, mistress of Highclere Castle which we know and love as Downton Abbey. The article was prompted by Lady Caenarvon's publishing of a book chronicling the history of Heighclere during World War I when it, too, served as a hospital and convalescent home. The story revolves around Almina, the Lady Caenarvon who infused Highlere with a 25 million pound dowry. The article is a wonderful peek into the similarities and dissimilarities between the very real Highclere and the fictional Downton Abbey.

Hi Ruth, I saw the first series of this and loved it,although I thought too much was crammed into the last episode. I am looking forward to the next series though.
