Happy Pink Saturday with How Sweet The Sound. I am late, and this is short. I have been dealing with back issues that have flared up from a car accident 4 years ago...aggravated by a trip to my husband's neurologist. They redid the furniture, and now all the seats are low, flat benches with bolster rolls instead of back and my back has protested mightily!
But enough of that! I am sharing a gorgeous pink Shelley China, England cup and saucer in the low Oleander shape which is like molded flower petals. One of my favorite shapes. The cup and saucer are a lovely blushing pink with the floral Rose & Red Daisy inside.
I just love it. The teacup was made between 1940 and when the pottery closed in 1966, a thing I will always regret!

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous share today. The color exquisite and has such a dainty edge. I love the gold colored handle and trim, but the grand of it all, the big surprise, are all the beautiful roses inside, just waiting for the last drop to be taken, so they can make their appearance. Just exquisite sweet friend.
I hope you are feeling better soon. There is nothing worse than back problems. I will be sending a few prayers up for you this week. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

I am going to pop over to your store and have a "peeksee"...
Praying your back doesn't give you too much grief.

Hi Ruth, your teacup is very pretty! Love the color. I wanted to join the pink saturday post but maybe I'll have time next saturday.
ReplyDeleteHope your back feels better soon. I hurt my back last year and ever since I have to be so careful.

This is a beautiful Shelley cup and saucer. Thank you for sharing. I have 5 pieces of Shelley, 1 cup, 2 saucers, 2 sandwich plates, in the Heather design. I have found the cups and saucers online, but one had a cup with a green handle, mine is not, it is white. I cannot imagine it in a green to be honest. They were left to me by my late mother, at one time she had the entire set but I think they used them as daily china, back in the day. These pieces are in wonderful condition tho and I cherish them and realize how fortunate I am to have them.
ReplyDeleteI added you to my blog and would love to be on your blog roll, Dianne

Such a pretty pattern-of course-I love the pink!
ReplyDeleteShelley did make such divine tea sets. I do love looking at them although I don't own any. I have collected less expensive brands that I'm happy to use often without fear of breakages.
