Hi! It's time for Pink Saturday with How Sweet the Sound!
Today I am sharing glorious pink roses....English roses...from a Roy Kirkham, England mug and from the June 2010 issue of Better Homes And Gardens. I saved it because the roses were so gorgeous and pink!
Isn't that pretty? And pretty pink as well. For more info on the mug at Antiques And Teacups click on the photos.
Roses have never been a favorite of mine in terms of scent, but always a visual favorite. They are so beautiful and evocative of repose, elegance and joy. We lived in a Victorian home for while and had a covered porch totally surrounded by an antique rugosa old fashioned climbing rose with the most delicious clove scent rather than the traditional rose scent. When the vines were blossoming I sat on the wicker surrounded by the cool scented shade with a book and a mug or glass of tea and was totally happy!
Have a wonderful day visiting Pink Saturday folks...and have a cup of tea with a friend!

Hello to you up there in the beautiful state of Washington! I'm down here in Texas, and I'm so excited to make a new friend! Love your pretty pinks to day, and I'm now your newest follower too! I'm so glad you came by my blog for a visit, for I now have found you!
ReplyDeleteLovely blog by the way...I'll be back for more visits.
Hope you have a lovely weekend,
blessings,
Doni
I agree with you that is a very pretty cup. The pink really sets it off.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really pretty rose mug. I have this Roy Kirkham English Rose mug in my collection too. Your former Victorian house porch sounds really lovely. I'd love to plant some English roses like those in the photos - they're gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice contribution to the day! I took one look at your mug and said to myself "English China." Lovely! Someday maybe I will grow enough roses!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my roses and a Happy Pink Saturday to you! That mug is so gorgeous and so are your other photos. The way you described sitting on the porch of your Victorian home with a cup of tea made me want to be there! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
That mug is so beautiful! The roses on it look almost real!
ReplyDeleteI like to smell roses, but once I bought some rose scented colonge and I was allergic to it! It made my throat hurt!
