As we are FINALLY having our first REAL summer weather here this week, I chose a yellow colorway of a Shelley China, England pattern called Crochet. The pattern comes from the lacy border like crocheted lace and the pattern came in several different colors. I have always loved the pattern. It is so feminine and pretty. The shape is called Gainsborough, and although it is currently not the most popular shape it's one of my favorites, especially when you have the burnished gold trim like this set. Perfect for afternoon tea. We are just finishing up some chocolate chip brownies I made the other day, and it is do difficult to stop at just one!

We have a weekly farmer's market here in Sequim which we visit every Saturday for fresh produce. The peas are just finishing up, beans coming in & corn expected next week. We're north here, people! Anyway, there are also local craft booths which is always fun. A lady called Never Di Recycled Glass has a business doing recycled glass lawn ornaments. We bought one a few weeks ago and love it. I photographed her booth on Lavender Festival Weekend which was cloudy, alas, but you'll get the idea.
She uses bits and pieces of old glassware, glass cabachons, door knobs, you name it to create yard art. Lovely!
In the middle photo you can see a sign that says Dale Chihuly...the internationally know art glass blower, who is from 100 miles away. The sign says "Dale Chihuly, Eat Your Heart OUT!" Pretty cute! The next photos are of our glass art in our garden by the lavender.
Have a great day visiting the other teacups. I am joining, among others,
Teacup Tuesday
you always have the most beautiful tea cups!

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI visited your blog today, and you have such a lovely selection of tea cups. I have been taking time out each day to enjoy a cup of tea. It is very relaxing after a hectic day. I did a post called "Tea Time" awhile ago, and it was a favorite of mine. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would really enjoy coming back to visit with you, and seeing all your beautiful teacups and ideas. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

Hi Ruth, What a great Farmer's Market. I know just where Sequiem is and I think I mentioned on an earlier visit. My hubby is from Washington and we visited in Sequiem while staying in a logger's cabin on the peninsula with our kids. It was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour tea cup is simply gorgeous!
