Hi and welcome to the Tuesday Tea extravanaza of blogs saluting all things tea. I love it! I am sharing today my birthday celebration tea last week at The Tea Room At Port Gamble, Washington, a town on the Historic Register founded on timber in 1853 and still well preserved. These photos were taken in the morning, a typical Washington coastal morning with marine layer intact, 65 degrees, which burned off later in the day.
The next photo is of the town's post office, which everyone is hoping will not be closed, and then a local bookstore, Dauntless books which has an official greeter outside.
This is the Tea Room At Port Gamble which added an evening bistro recently.
We ordered the Chocolate Tea:

As it was my birthday...and I LOVE chocolate!
See...I DID get a teacup and teapot in this post! Although not mine....The teapot was filled with a nicely brewed and decanted Margaret's Hope Darjeeling.
We had not had tea here for almost 2 years and had forgotten just how HUGE the scones were! We ended up splitting a lemon scone and taking the cranberry pecan home which we had split and toasted with butter and jam for tea the next day.
Part of the chocolate tea was our choice of a truffle from their selection.
We actually took half the sandwiches home and did not even have the chocolate fruit fondue which was to be our dessert as part of the tea. We were just too full! But the owner presented us with a gift certificate for the fondue and a pot of tea since we hadn't had it...which was a nice touch and very much appreciated!
It was a lovely tea on a lovely setting with great staff...the owner even sang to us...the old music hall love ballad The ABCs Of Love which starts out...
A...you're adorable,
B...you're so beautiful,
etc.
A nice birthday tea! I am joining the following tea blogs today and others. Please visit and enjoy a cuppa with each one!
Cheers!

What a marvelous Happy Birthday tea! And, that was very kind of the owner to gift you with a gift certificate for what you missed! We lost our tea room in town here in a afreak accident when the theatre being restored next to it collasped - and took the tea room with it! Praise God it was during the month that the tea room was closed in winter and no one was inside.
ReplyDeleteMiss that place. Thanks for the virtual tea with you!
Joy!
