Teacup Tuesday
This is a wonderful and large all white porcelain teapot I just listed at Antiques And Teacups that I fell in love with. I happened on an antique market in a small town last weekend and jumped on this cutie! The teapot is unmarked but is extremely well made. It's also quite large. I love the basket weave pattern.
I looked for a teacup to go along with the teapot, and found this antique cup and saucer by Simpson's, England in a pattern called Marlborough with a basket weave pattern and an ivy border. As it is finally getting to be the time for tea outside in the garden, I thought this would go perfectly with the teapot with a botanical tea cloth and green tea napkins with your scones and tea in a chaise longue by a fountain or koi pond listening to the breeze ruffled leaves and twittering birds. Ahhhh.....

What beautiful basket weave china! Love that pattern. I have seen that book a few times quoted on blogs. I think Victoria had a feature on it once. I need to try to check it out of the library.

I found a set of teacups in a consignment store today with handles on both sides. Although I LOVED the pattern, the handles made it look impractical/awkward to use. Do you know anything about these double handled beauties (made by Spode)? Why the two handles? XOL
