Well...I am old enough to have avidly watched every episode of the original Upstairs Downstairs in the 1970s so am really looking forward to watching the new series tonight. The repeat player is Jean Marsh, one of the original cast who played Rose, the parlor maid is back as Rose now the housekeeper at 165 Eaton Place...but no Bellamys. Jean Marsh also wrote the original Upstairs Downstairs with fellow actor Eileen Atkins who will be in this series as a widow of the Raj in India come home with bag, baggage and apparently a monkey in tow. It should be great fun. Let's talk aboiut what we thought after watching tonight.

My next door neighbor (orig. from Manchester) and I (and our husbands) watched the whole series and loved every minute of it. We are watching tonight. She is in So Cal and I'm in Portland, OR, but we are watching together again. We'll visit by phone, when it is over. Can't wait.
