Tea Pot and Tea Things Tuesday, Teacup Tuesday, Retro Mid Century Style
I am joining Teacup Tuesday, Tea Pot & Tea Things Tuesday, Tea Time Tuesday & several other tea parties. I really need to do a list & save it from week to week...I always seem to forget someone or don't get the link in. But, Thanks Martha, Sandy, Wanda Lee & Pam & all the other tea ladies!!!
I wanted to share something a little different today so chose a different era from the items I usually choose from the stock of my website Antiques And Teacups. The design style (and dates they were made) for the teapot and teacup this week is mid century, retro, modern. This cool teapot is by Midwinter, England...a part of the Wedgwood Group...in the Riverside pattern. Would fit on your formica table in your Eichler home. Avocado...some of you are old enough to remember that...everything was avocado green and harvest gold. Oh yeah! Anyway, I love this teapot. It is signed by the designer John Russell.
And to go with the pot...sorta...because I wanted something springlike still...I chose this Taylor and Kent, England hand colored on black transfer cup and saucer with burnished gold from made in the 1960s. This is one of my favorite teacups because it is so striking. Not for fainting, shrinking violets!
To see more of either of these at Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.
I am planning to make a spring risotto with fresh asparagus tonight for dinner. One of my favorites. Then I think it's time for some strawberry scones, don't you?
Have a great day visiting all the tea parties. We are expecting heavy rain through Wednesday with small river flooding. Welcome to spring!!!
