I am joining with several blogs in a Christmas With Victoria blog party.
The issue I have chosen is Vicoria December 1992, which is a personal favorite. The issue has the typical gloriously photographed table settings, recipes and articles.
The issue featured a wonderful article on Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol, an all time holiday favorite that has has spawned many contemporary versions to delight lovers of contemporary settings as well. My favorite is the musical version Scrooge from the 1970s with Albert Finney. We can't have a Christmas without playing it ...and singing all the songs, I may add...every year.
And then the fabulous table settings. Absolutely beautiful!
I treasure my Victoria magazines and read through them often, gleaning new ideas, familiar warmth, peace and inspiration.
Thank you again, Victoria!

Merry Christmas
I love them all as well...and bring them out every Christmas. They are a joy! Thanks for your kind comments!
ReplyDeleteOh girl...I'm so glad you followed the crumbs to me so I could find you in return. What a lovely, refreshing bloggie you have and it's a JOY for me to visit.
ReplyDeleteI have that very issue of Victoria. I love the old ones so much.
My daddy is a retired Nazarene Minister. He is very sick now with Alzheimer's but I'll never forget all the things he struggled to teach us kids... "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it...".
I'm so grateful for those days.
Blessings to you. I'm honored to have you follow me and I in turn will be blessed to follow you in return.
Love and Merry Christmas~
Rebecca
Hello Ruth,
ReplyDeleteI am finally getting the chance to visit some of the blogs from Christmas with Victoria. It is always nice to meet someone else from beautiful Washington State. I am from Lake Stevens, near Everett. Your post about Victoria Magazine was lovely and I will have to check my old magazines to see if I have that issue. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
