Christmas Greeting antique postcard Snowscene and holly

I have decided to share a Christmas postcard a day until Christmas. I have loads of postcards and love them. They are such a window on times, customs a lives that are past.
The postcard was postmarked Dec. 24, 1909 Cambridge, Mass. and was addressed in fabulous copperplate script to Miss Elizabeth Watson, Cambridge, Mass. The design of the snow scene vignette with pond and holly with metallic gold lace frame on an embossed card made in Germany is so pretty. Postcards were a normal way to send greetings then....bet the post office staff loved to catch up on all the local news from the info on the backs! some are quite chatty, some are more restrained.
This one has the most beautiful copperplate hand writing. Absolutely beautiful!

We are having a major rain event in Washington state today..flooding expected in many areas. We here at the top of the Olympic Peninsula are shielded from the worst by the Olympic Mountains, but our forecast is for up to an inch today and the local rivers like the Dungeness are at or above flood level. Hope everyone stays safe. La Nina seems to be performing as expected at the moment. Have a wonderful Sunday, and stay dry!
